Edition 2025, Volume 1 – Sermon “How to Keep the Devil Out of Your Life”

2 Corinthians 2:1-11 New Living Translation

1 So I decided that I would not bring you grief with another painful visit. For if I cause you grief, who will make me glad? Surely you all know that my joy comes from your being joyful. I wrote that letter in great anguish, with a troubled heart and many tears. I didn’t want to grieve you, but I wanted to let you know how much love I have for you.

38 Jesus also taught: “Beware of these teachers of religious law! For they like to parade around in flowing robes and receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces. 39 And how they love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the head table at banquets. 40 Yet they shamelessly cheat widows out of their property and then pretend to be pious by making long prayers in public. Because of this, they will be more severely punished.”
