1 John 1:1-10 New Living Translation
Introduction
1 We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. 2 This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.
Living in the Light
5 This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. 6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
Prayer
O Lord, you have taught us that without love whatever we do is worth nothing: Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts your greatest gift, which is love, the true bond of peace and of all virtue, without which whoever lives is accounted dead before you. Grant this for the sake of your only Son Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Announcements
Love Your Church Luncheon: Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Love Your Church Luncheon and for your generous contributions. We are excited to share that we raised $1,200.00! This will greatly support Youth Initiatives and Partnerships, including mental health programs in our local schools. Special thanks to the Munoz family for preparing such a wonderful meal and to everyone who gave. Your support makes a difference! If you did not get a chance to donate, there is still time. Please see Vernon Ramsey with your donation.
Children’s Church: We are excited to announce that Children’s Church is now available for children ages 3 and up during our morning worship service! Children will be dismissed before the sermon begins and will enjoy a fun, engaging time in the Lord, specifically tailored to them. This gives parents the opportunity to fully engage in the sermon while their little ones learn and grow in faith in a safe and nurturing environment. We look forward to seeing your children there and appreciate your continued support as we invest in the spiritual growth of our youngest members. Please pick up your children immediately following the service from the daycare.

Thoro Harris
1874-1955
Thoro Harris was a prolific Black hymn writer and composer in the early 20th century. Born in Washington, D.C., he wrote his first hymnal in 1902 in Boston, Massachusetts. Harris later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he continued his work, eventually settling in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, in 1932. His many hymns were widely published in various hymnals. Harris’s compositions are often centered on themes of faith, hope, and the joy of salvation. He is best known for works such as “Jesus Loves the Little Children,” “He’s Coming Soon,” and the hymn we are singing today, “All That Thrills My Soul Is Jesus,” written in 1931. This beautiful hymn expresses deep devotion and joy in Jesus Christ.
